De Britten hebben een mooie traditie met zomermuziek, de promenadeconcerten, of Proms. Het seizoen is zojuist traditioneel afgesloten met de Last Night of the Proms.(Klik hier voor programmaboekje, beschikbaar t/m zaterdag 18 september ), met als tweede deel van de avond de traditionele nummers als Jerusalem en Land of Hope and Glory.. Mooiste concertavond dit jaar was het optreden van Jamie Cullum en daarbinnen het nummer Theres a land of begin again. Het is een oorlogsnummer, in 1942 al gezongen door Vera Lynn. Op de website an de BBC is zo lang als het duurt een klein stukje van dit nummer terug te zien en te horen. Maar hij heeft het ook vorig jaar 10 november de avond voor Rememberance Day (dodenherdenking) gezongen in diezelfde Royal Albert Hall in London. En dat filmpje heb ik op You Tube gevonden:
